Nightmare


Chiller calmly padded up behind Bumblebee shortly after waking up. The yellow-and-black wolf had woken in the middle of the night, leaving the berthroom where his comrades slept soundlessly. Something's on his mind. Chiller thought silently to herself. Bumblebee turned his head slightly to look at her as she sat next to him on the cliff side outside of base, watching the night sky.

"What's wrong, Bee?" His ears flicked at the sound of her voice. After staying silent for a few seconds, Bumblebee turned his head to her, sadness clouding his eyes, *...We almost lost Raf today,* he looked down, away from her gentle gaze as he shamed himself, *And it's my fault.*

Chiller was stricken with emotion instantly. It was true that they had almost lost their shared charge to Megatron's wrath earlier, but it wasn't Bumblebee's fault. "Bee... That's not true. You had no idea Megatron would encounter you, nor that he was above you. There was nothing you could do, don't try an' blame yourself."

Bumblebee chirped, looking back up to her, *True... But I couldn't dodge that blast-*

"Bumblebee, if you did dodge that blast, Raf could've been hurt even more. He could've been thrown off your back, and at the speed you were going, he wouldn't have made it. In a weird way, it's a good thing you didn't dodge it. It sounds cruel for me to say, but it's true."

Bumblebee looked to his would-be-called sparkmate and sighed in defeat. She was right. He shouldn't blame himself for something he didn't know would happen.

Megatron simply had to pay. He took Bumblebee's voice, attempted to kill Chiller the same day he tore the yellow scout's throat open, and had nearly killed Raf earlier that day. It was getting personal. Very personal, as if it wasn't already. Bumblebee came to the conclusion that the Decepticon leader would pay, and that he himself would send the message to the tyrant.

Chiller snapped him out of his thoughts as she rest her head under his chin for a moment, murmuring comforting words to help calm his emotions. The yellow-and-black wolf relaxed after a few minutes and gladly lay down next to Chiller. She smiled sweetly and laid her head next to her paws, sleeping soundly.
