Tale of a Demon Fox - Prologue

    Darkness.
    Darkness and the cold.
    It washed over Jamie's exhausted body, but she took notice to it. She slowly opened her eyes only halfway and they were dilated, as if she was stabbed with a syringe. Which she had been about forty-five minutes before. Once a dark grey wolf with a happy personality, turned to an extremely colorful Demon Fox that lay in a testing facility.
    "W— why is it so cold?" Jamie whispered, barely able to even hear herself, "I can't see anything... It's so dark."
    The room she lay in was pitch dark. It was like you had never even opened your eyes because of how dark it was. No light whatsoever. 
    The cage she was trapped in had bars the size of poles in them, and they were built strong, so she couldn't break through them.
    Jamie's originally dark grey fur had turned to a dark green, with strange markings and a very long tail. Her body grew more slender and her ears were red and purple with yellow stripes through them. All because of the tests she had gone through.
    A few hours before, she had been strapped to a table and poked and prodded with different types of syringes and each one of them burned and shot through her body with an enormous amount of pain. Her tail had sprouted longer without her even knowing about fifteen minutes before she had woken up.
    Muttering in a different language she didn't understand, humans began to tumble in through the door. Shifting uncomfortably, Jamie struggled to get free and thrashed in the restraints in her cage. Four humans spoke with deep voices and pulled her from the cage, her mind screaming for freedom from the facility.
    They strapped her to a table, this time so she was on her back, and one turned, pulling a table towards them with sharp utensils and silver metal pieces that she didn't understand the reason for. But one word stood out to her.
    Dissection.
    She didn't understand it exactly, but she knew the meaning.
    Jamie panicked, thrashing around and growling with all the strength she had in her. But nothing worked. Her head was spinning and suddenly she felt a needle poke into her neck and instantaneously began to feel sleepy. "No!" She yowled through gritted teeth as a larger, thicker knife was bearing down on her chest.
    Preparing to die, Jamie closed her eyes and fear washed over her in one more wave as the knife touched her fur, but before it could puncture, a cage in the other corner of the room burst open and a blue wolf stepped out. Growling, he launched himself at the humans and instantly killed one with a swift bite to the throat.
    Jamie hardly realized what was going on around her. Her eyes were half closed and her senses began to go fuzzy. Closing her eyes, Jamie went limp and fell into unconsciousness...
